To Prevent the Decline of Eyesight
With the acceleration of the pace of life, people’s work pressure is increasing day after day, which indirectly does great harm to the eyes. Meanwhile, the air pollution, chemical substances, malnutrition and bad living habits, etc may be the main reasons leading to the decline in vision.
Thus, in order to protect the eyesight with eyeglasses, people should attach great importance to the daily hygiene, among which, to maintain a balanced nutrition is essential.
First, people are required to provide adequate vitamin A: Vitamin A is an important raw material to build up photosensitive substances of eyes, and it contributes greatly to the protection of eyes and other epithelial tissues. Besides, it can indirectly resist eye infection. Sufficient Vitamin A, at the same time, can increase the smoothness of the eye cornea, so that eyes will look brighter and clearer.
Second, add sufficient protein: the rhodopsin on eye retina is composed of protein. By the lack of it, other than weak muscle, dysplasia and infection, the phenomenon like edema, anemia and even visual impairment can be occur. Therefore, short-sighted people are recommended to eat foods in higher protein, such as lean meat, fish, milk, eggs and soybean products and so on.
Third, calcium and phosphorus are indispensable: both of them have the ability to make sclera tough and participate in physical activities of optic nerves. The deficiency of calcium and phosphorus can easily lead to high incidence of eye fatigue, distraction, and bifocals as well.
Fourth, to add adequate vitamin C, B1and B2: Vitamin C is an important nutrient of eyes. The short of intake will result in eyeball turbidity, and even worse, it is one of the important reasons for cataract. The food that is rich in vitamin C includes orange, mandarin, grapefruit, tomatoes and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Vitamin B1 and B2 are essential materials participating in nerve cell metabolism including the optic nerve. They can not only help protect eyelid conjunctiva, cornea as well as bulbar conjunctiva, but also prevent and delay the formation of furrows on the side of eyes.
The last but not the least, trace elements cannot be ignored: although the content of trace elements accounts for less than one percent in the human body, they still play a great role. Without them, it is difficult to carry out metabolism, and hence people’s health will be affected. Trace elements such as zinc, chromium, molybdenum and selenium, also participate in the metabolism of various substances, to regulate their physiological functions, so they cannot be neglected.
As a saying goes, diet cures more than the doctor. In the matter of eating, people should keep a balanced nutrition to maintain a healthy body, so that the eyeglasses , to some extent, can get a reasonable protection.
